Our Teas

Black Tea

Kenya is one of the leading producers of black teas. The profile of a black tea, including its infusion color, body, strength, aroma, and flavor, depend on the tea bush variety, the season of harvest, the elevation of the tea garden, and the degree of tea leaf oxidation. Black Kenyan teas are infused with a beautiful deep, reddish color. Majani offers black teas that are organic and Fair Trade Certified™, and can be enjoyed by themselves, infused with fruit, milk, or sweetener. We hope that you will enjoy them as much as we do.

Green Tea

Green teas are processed soon after harvesting to prevent leaf oxidation and are handled with great care to prevent bruising and to preserve the green leaves’ soft, clean character. Our green teas are harvested at the highest elevations in Kenya, which give them a subtle and enjoyable flavor. Like white teas, green teas are valued not only for their lovely flavors and aromas, but for the high concentrations of antioxidant polyphenols and the L-Theanine amino acid.

White Tea

White teas are considered by many to be the most premium of teas. They are the most subtle and the least processed. They are known to be smooth, delicate, and lightly sweet. Although they can be steeped longer than most other teas without developing bitterness, traditionally they are enjoyed in several infusions rather than one extended one. White teas are very low in caffeine and contain high concentrations of tea catechins and the L-Theanine amino acid. In Kenya, white teas are a specialty item. Our white tea offering is very gentle and divinely good!

Oolong Tea

Oolong is a type of tea between green and black tea. Oolong teas are commonly known as wulong or woolong and traditionally come from China. With better tea processing techniques and education, Kenya has been able to produce a remarkable oolong. Our oolong tea is made from the finest buds and has notes of sweet roundness and a touch of stone fruit, brought out by partial oxidation. Kenyans often drink oolong teas after a meal to help with digestion. It is also believed to support weight loss.
